About

The Nutshell: 22. College graduate. Reads, listens, watches, and has too many opinions.

Who are you?
JiChi. Pronounced Gee-Chee. Graduated from the Blue and Gold with degrees in Political Science (International Relations) and Sociology (...Immigration...?). My hobbies are reading, listening to music, being artsy, letting my imagination run wild, photography, and cooking. And much more besides.

Also, I have recently decided to attend law school in a few years, so if anyone has first hand information on American University's JD/MA dual degree, please share.

Why does this blog exist?
Because I once thrived on livejournal and then failed miserably. A couple years later, I graduated college and found that I, once again, needed an outlet for my thoughts on many things. After encouragement from friends, I decided to start my own blog. As far as I know, this blog will center mostly on 3 things: books, food, and photography. There may or may not be an inordinate amount of the "pimping" of things I enjoy.

Will there be a rating system for reviews?
Nope. That implies consistency- which is an admirable quality in stories, characters, and office work. However, I doubt I'd be able to judge all books/movies/shows/etc by the same standards every time, so I will avoid using a ranking system.

What camera do you use?
Canon PowerShot SX210 IS. Almost (okay, not quite) all the goodies of a DSLR in a compact form.

Why are your recipes so tiny?
Usually because we use our kitchen oven for storage, so I adjust my recipes for the tiny conventional oven that I use for my baking. Also, because my family doesn't really eat much. Just adjust the recipes using handy-dandy multiplication and baking conversion charts.

Has any every told you that you have a strange taste in books/music/etc?
Yes, and I am quite proud.

What is the background of your blog? Where is it from?
The background is a highly stylized and photoshopped version of a photo I took on Rue Etienne Marcel, of a lovely piece of street art in Paris. Artwork credit to the unknown artist and photo credits to me.

Salons and libraries...? Wonders like I've never seen?
You are so smart. Yes, those are lyrics from the song, "One Short Day" from the musical, Wicked. I quote song lyrics sometimes and it gives me great joy when people know what I'm talking about.
